WV Republican baby formula hypocrisy
It's not unlike the Covid crisis
For over two years, Republicans have fought mask and vaccination requirements put in place to slow the virus. The nimble virus has responded by mutating and then infecting more victims. (We are apparently in the early stages of another virus rally.) Republicans then blame President Biden for not solving the Covid crisis. (Rinse, repeat.). . .
The state’s covid numbers are down but WV Republicans are doing their best to keep the virus alive, well, and mutating
From the New York Times, here’s today’s snapshot:
WV House of Delegates considers banning proof of vaccination necessary for schools, hospitals
From Friday morning’s Charleston Gazette-Mail:
The West Virginia House committee on Health and Human Resources advanced a bill Thursday that would make it . . .

It's simple: fight efforts to control the virus and then blame Biden for what happens
The Republican covid strategy continues
West Virginia's covid numbers continue to increase
From the New York Times on December 31:
While Republican state officials continue to fight efforts to control the virus
As earlier COVID-19 vaccine mandate lawsuits get their day before the U.S. Supreme Court in two weeks, West Virginia Attorney General . . .
Senator Shelley Moore Capito and the coronavirus
Senator Capito echoes the Republican Party's opposition to covid vaccine mandates. The shorter Republican version: we’re catering to the base and if the virus worsens, we'll then blame the President for not controlling the virus. (It's a win either way!)
That may be a cynical take on Republican talking points, but Capito and the Party appears to have embraced it.
From the AP report in yesterday’s Wheeling Intelligencer:
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., said a telephone town hall she recently held with constituents made clear they are concerned about keeping their job . . .

Patrick Morrisey update
Vaccines, Fauci, DeSantis, marijuana: what’s happening with WV’s attorney general?
Ignoring the numbers (and science), WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey continues to fight against vaccine mandates
From earlier this month:
State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has joined another multi-state lawsuit opposing a Biden administration vaccine mandate. This one concerns health care workers employed by providers . . .
Blame Biden for everything!
A look at the Twitter account of West Virginia’s Trump Party
The WV GOP regularly tweets about President Biden’s handling of the economy. In particular, they especially like to criticize his job creation numbers:
