I was looking for more information on Mooney's McKinley ad when I spotted this on Steven Allen Adams' Twitter feed:

The David Leonhardt article is here. Leonhardt draws what I think is a false equivalency based upon at least one questionable premise -- that I wear a mask because I want to virtue signal my progressivism to everyone. I'm sorry to disappoint Leonhardt but I wear a mask to protect myself and others -- something the maskless are not doing. My action does not threaten the health of others while those without a mask do. Additionally, my action is much less likely to contribute to increased hospital overcrowding and a further depletion of scarce medical resources. Sorry, the masked and the maskless are not equivalent. I found it disappointing that Steven Allen Adams gave a thumbs-up to Leohardt's article. Given the state's low vaccination rate, a 2022 legislature which aims to eliminate any virus oversight, and a significant number of West Virginians who will undermine, if not sabotage, any attempt to limit the virus, we may become the last state to recover from the epidemic. That's too bad.
