Apparently, yesterday was WVU Academic Media Day and our local papers sent reporter Linda Comins to cover the events of the day. The keynote speaker was WVU President E. Gordon Gee (who else could it be?) and thus his comments became front-page news for this morning's Wheeling Intelligencer:

Hey, wasn't there an important meeting of world leaders yesterday?
Yes, and the Wheeling News-Register managed to find room for 1/3 of the AP report on page 4!
Rather than cover the G-7 meeting of world leaders, the Wheeling News-Register had more important stories to cover on its front page. By the size of its headline, the biggest story of the day was the Strawberry Festival in Martins Ferry:
