At an energy conference, Manchin doesn't even pretend to care about his constituents or the environment
WV's senator uses "we" when speaking to a room full of oil and gas executives
From Kate Aronoff in today's New Republic:
At S&P Global’s CERAWeek—one of the continent’s largest energy conferences—Manchin seemed to present himself as a representative for the industry in Washington, offering the room pointers on how to deal with politicians.
“We haven’t been good at . . . you know, I say, ‘we,’” . . .

Governor Jim Justice: “Today, all of a sudden, the whole world is running through the streets saying where is West Virginia?”
Not to worry, today's Intelligencer front-page cleans up his act for him
This morning's Wheeling Intelligencer features an article on recent statements by the state’s governor, Jim Justice. Almost half of the 438-word article by Ogden’s Jess Mancini are direct quotes from the governor. However, the front-page article ignores the following Justice statements that were picked-up by other media:

Given all that is happening in the Ukraine, isn’t it time for West Virginia’s treasurer, Riley Moore, to account for his previous lobbying efforts on behalf of the Russian-backed Ukrainian government of Viktor Yanukovych?
Yes it is, but who would ask him?
In 2013, current WV Treasurer Riley Moore went to work as a lobbyist for Paul Manafort and the Podesta Group. Here’s a screen shot from Open Secrets’ that list him as one of the lobbyists for the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine:

From today’s Washington Post:
. . .Kathy Griffin, Ben Shapiro, Kurt Cobain and the Wheeling Intelligencer
Back in November of 2017, the Wheeling Intelligencer ran an editorial that cheered the fact that comedian Kathy Griffin was having difficulty finding jobs after she had posted “a video of herself holding a fake severed head that strongly resembled the president of the United States.” (I wrote about it here). The editorial could not hide its . . .

Do Representative David McKinley’s internal polls indicate that he is losing to Alex Mooney in the District 2 primary?
I don’t know, but McKinley's reaction to Biden’s SOTU address suggests that he is losing the battle and that he now needs to out-embrace Mooney with Trump
In a press release, McKinley responds to Biden’s speech by using the old poem, “Casey at the Bat,” as a metaphor to describe Biden address. Its title reads:
MCKINLEY ON THE STATE OF THE UNION: PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS STRUCK OUT
According to our local congressman, the President (like the “mighty Casey”) had a chance to . . .
