From today’s Wheeling Intelligencer editorial: “This is not a political issue”
It never is when Republicans are at fault*
I seldom comment upon local editorials about Ohio politics. (Ogden editorials about West Virginia politics are usually more than enough to keep me busy.) A sentence in the editorial, “Probe Charter School Fiasco,” caught my attention, however, and I couldn’t let it go by without some research and comments.
The editorial is about a . . .
Today’s Wheeling News-Register features 1500 words on a Republican House of Delegates incumbent from WV’s Eastern Panhandle who lost by 12%. For those of us who live in WV’s Northern Panhandle, how is this news?
Answer: it’s Shelley Moore Capito’s nephew!
Ogden political reporter, Steven Allen Adams, and the News-Register have outdone themselves with one of the longest front-page stories this year and it’s about a non-local candidate who lost by over 800 votes earlier this month. Nationally:

What AP story about West Virginia was carried in Nashville (TN), Beaufort County (SC), Olympia (WA), and Columbus (IN) newspapers but not in local Ogden papers?
Hint: It's about a West Virginia elected official
As of 4 PM today there were 370 news sources that carried the following Associated Press news article:

Two months ago, West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner lost the first lawsuit to former employees who were wrongfully fired when he took office in January 2017. Here is how the Charleston Gazette-Mail described it last month:
The lawsuits stem from Warner’s firing of 16 rank-and-file employees in the secretary of . . .
