The Wheeling Alternative
Plagiarism and the state of West Virginia journalism
Page 3 of the “Region” section in this weekend's Wheeling News-Register brings us an op-ed by Republican Delegate Mick Bates of Raleigh County:
W.Va. Deserves Commitment to Energy Independence
As I read the article, it seemed familiar, but I wasn’t sure why. Given the numerous examples of Ogden’s recycling, I . . .
Hey Intelligencer, instead of publishing month-old Ohio editorials, why not keep us up to date with Ohio’s Republican senatorial primary?
Racism, Trump-worship, and endless clichés

To quote J.D. Vance: Are you a racist?
And this is how other countries judge us?

Can anyone name a West Virginia newspaper that does investigative journalism and publishes diverse points-of-views on its op-ed page?
Obviously, rule out the Ogden papers. Okay, from time to time, the Charleston Gazette-Mail does do both. How about West Virginia University’s student newspaper, The Daily Athenaeum?
Here is a sample of some of the paper's recent investigative reporting
