Hey Intelligencer, instead of publishing month-old Ohio editorials, why not keep us up to date with Ohio’s Republican senatorial primary?
Racism, Trump-worship, and endless clichés
The candidates
JD Vance
So yesterday, we learned that Mexicans caused his mother’s addiction:
Are you a racist? pic.twitter.com/Fdknxld39i
— J.D. Vance (@JDVance1) April 5, 2022
To quote J.D. Vance: Are you a racist?
And this is how other countries judge us?
JD Vance: "A lot of countries look at the United States as the leader of the free world; they're not going to look at us like that if we keep on pushing ridiculous notions of gender with the children, not just here, but everywhere else too." https://t.co/MMFN4sEsgF pic.twitter.com/q7306DI2s7

Josh Mandel
Invoking MLK:
Martin Luther King marched right here so skin color wouldn’t matter. pic.twitter.com/kVSU4zKdM1
— Josh Mandel (@JoshMandelOhio) April 5, 2022
(Note: If you watch Mandel's ad, check the picture of Mandel with the black soldiers around the 10 or 11 second mark -- Mandel's hands appear to be dark-skinned leading some to believe that the picture was photoshopped by placing Mandel's face onto a black soldier's body. That shot has been widely-circulated on Twitter. Fact-checker Snopes cites a Politico reporter, Natalie Allison, who says that the picture is accurate and that a darkening filter was probably used on the original although she doesn't explain why. It is certainly a curious picture.)
And then Mandel doubles-down:
Josh Mandel tells Martin Luther King’s daughter that she doesn’t know about the history of her father as well as he does. pic.twitter.com/OWuf8mMT2j

Mike Gibbons
Gibbons is supposedly the front-runner.
But he continues to say that that the presidential vote total was greater than those registered to vote:
A GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate claimed "five million more people voted than were registered to vote. And that’s according to the U.S. Census Bureau." @PolitiFact rates that claim as Pants on Fire!

Jane Timken (endorsed by Senators Capito and Portman!)
The “I’m a mom” claim is apparently required every time she opens her mouth.
We're 45 seconds into the #OHSen debate and Jane Timken has used literally every one of her slogans
— Ryan James Girdusky (@RyanGirdusky) April 5, 2022
"Mom on a Mission," "150,000 miles,"... all of them
Timken also claims the media have "erased" Justice Thomas but seems to have forgotten ("erased") Thurgood Marshall:
The Left and MSM are working overtime to erase Justice Clarence Thomas. pic.twitter.com/c3ux9OMJ6D

Matt Dolan
He’s the only Republican not begging Trump for an endorsement:
He's also closer to what used to be called a Republican:There are five major contenders on the Republican side. Four support Trump — Josh Mandel, Mike Gibbons, JD Vance and Jane Timken. The fifth, state Sen. Matt Dolan, has conservative policy positions, but touts articles that note he has not courted Trump’s support.

Prices on everything from groceries to gas are skyrocketing in Ohio. The Democrats' war on energy is an attack on your wallet. I will work to reclaim American energy independence so we can restore our national security, protect Ohio jobs, and bring relief to consumers. #OHSEN pic.twitter.com/ZlQemaYFBn
