The Wheeling Alternative
Irrelevant, biased, and unethical
9/21/22: Another close look at the Wheeling Intelligencer editorial page
Irrelevant, lazy editorials
Editorial #1: “Reverse Economic Trend”
It's more Ohio crap: the editorial, “Reverse economic trend,” tells us that the poverty rate in Ohio is 12.7” and that it is “0.8% higher than the national rate.” The editorial (most likely from the Marietta Times) then tells us that “we need” to do . . .
Ogden Newspapers covers Trump’s Youngstown rally
Ogden reporter David Skolnick’s piece is balanced but does he tell us enough -- most importantly, what about the fascists?
Former president Donald Trump held a political rally in nearby Youngstown, Ohio on Saturday. Rather than ignoring the rally, today’s Wheeling Intelligencer used the story filed by a reporter from Ogden’s Youngstown Vindicator, David Skolnick. Skolnik’s coverage of Trump’s is balanced; it provides some of what Trump and Republican senate . . .
The Monday Intelligencer: Another recycled editorial and Steven Allen Adams writes about a popular meme that he says doesn’t make West Virginians look good
The lazy Intelligencer once again demonstrates its disdain for its readership
If today’s lead editorial looked familiar, the exact same editorial was run on August 8 under a different title. Once again, the paper shows no respect for its readers; filler is all that matters.
Steven Allen Adams blames West Virginians for . . .
They ought to drop “Republican” from their name

The event was to culminate at the White Palace with a showing of Dinesh D’Souza propaganda film, “2000 Mules.” Apparently, our local Republican/Trump Party did not check first with the . . .

I recently saw this on the West Virginia Attorney General’s official Twitter account:
The WV AG announced Thursday that he signed the Women’s Bill of Rights.

Hey, it’s front page favorite week at the Wheeling Intelligencer
Capito PR today, Capehart PR yesterday: This is what passes for news?
With accompanying picture, today’s Shelley Moore Capito article covers half of the front page. There is no news in the article and the article is filled with bland statements such as:
. . .Capito indicated she is happy with the Republican party’s platform at this point in time, and she hopes that it continues going forward.
Loan forgiveness: Good for me, not for thee
