Some thoughts on the future of newspapers
Is Ogden’s “newspapers on the cheap” the only way to go?
No news on yesterday’s front pages
The front page of yesterday’s Wheeling Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register consisted of two word-for-word PR releases and two old articles from another Ogden paper. On page 1 were the following:
West Liberty’s International Month Grows
Other than updating date . . .
Weekend front pages and a righteous Mike Myer column
Irrelevant news and "handling the truth"
Saturday
Trump barely makes the front page
As noted in my previous post, President Trump was only referenced once in Friday's Wheeling Intelligencer -- on the last page of the paper in an article about the Kentucky governor's race. Despite Friday being an especially newsworthy day in the impeachment hearings, . . .

Looking for President Trump
If you get a chance, take a look at the front page of today's major American newspapers featured at Kiosko. You’ll notice that stories that deal with Trump and impeachment dominate those pages. From Sports Illustrated, earlier this afternoon:

Yesterday: Kentucky’s Republican governor loses. Today: Mitch McConnell becomes co-sponsor of a new miner pension bill
Last night, Kentucky’s incumbent Republican governor, Matt Bevins, was upset by Democrat Andy Beshear. Today, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R – KY), who has long prevented any vote on miner pensions has decided to co-sponsor new miner pension legislation with West Virginia’s two senators. According to WV News:
