Exxon lobbyist: Capito and "kingmaker" Manchin are "crucial" to the company
And here I thought they worked for West Virginians (with Friday update)
This story, from Britain's Channel 4 News, broke yesterday:
Senior Exxon lobbyist captured on video names 11 senators "crucial" to company: Capito, Manchin, Sinema, Tester, Hassan, Barrasso, Cornyn, Daines, Coons, Kelly and Rubio.

More reactions to yesterday’s Senate vote to establish a January 6 commission
Doing the math, Senator Capito’s bogus excuse, and a different take on what this may mean for the Democrats
The vote totals
The vote was 54 in favor of moving forward with the commission to 35 against. Of course, under Senate rules, the 35 wins the vote:
51 senators can seat a Supreme Court justice but 54 senators can’t establish an independent commission to investigate a violent insurrection in their own damn building.

Following WV’s senators
Senator Shelley Moore Capito

Following Senator Capito down the rabbit hole on earmarks
Last week, the local “newspapers” featured area congressman David McKinley’s efforts on earmarks. (I wrote about it here.) As a follow-up, I decided to research what WV’s junior senator, Shelley Moore Capito, is saying about the subject.
From Roll Call last month, here is Capito hedging on the Senate rule banning earmarks:

Good for Senator Shelley
From NBC Capitol Hill correspondent Garrett Haake:
WV’s @SenCapito today defended @Liz_Cheney as “bold and truthful into her truth,” and warned her party that actions against Cheney “could start narrowing the tent, which I think this will do. And that concerns me greatly.” pic.twitter.com/aYel1fOxXw
