The Wheeling Alternative
Lies about health care and debates, dated photos, and TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP
The Morrisey campaign appeals to Trump's low information voter
Morrisey and Trump lie about their support for pre-existing conditions
President Trump is right. I have always supported protecting those who need help the most, including those with preexisting conditions. Manchin lies and tries to scare voters because he’s just another dishonest Washington liberal. #wvsen https://t.co/rkYfpyeAGH

Trailing in the polls and with nothing positive to offer, the Morrisey campaign is beginning to show its desperation
I’ve noted previously how Republican candidate Patrick Morrisey’s campaign essentially consists of two elements: his total embrace of President Trump and the connecting of his opponent, Joe Manchin, with Democratic politicians that he believes are hated by West Virginians. While Morrisey's campaign website does have an issues section, we’ . . .
Morrisey chutzpah on the debates
Patrick Morrisey attacks Joe Manchin on the canceled debate; the Intelligencer covers for him by lying about what happened
I think psychologists call this "projection"
As statewide news reports noted yesterday, a second debate will not take place because the Morrisey campaign failed to meet the necessary deadlines. (See next post down.)
Earlier today, Republican senatorial candidate Patrick Morrisey retweeted this from Nathan Brand:
. . .How many Manchin-Morrisey debates will there be?
The answer depends upon whom you ask
The media have been reporting two
All the reports that I have previously read suggest two: October 14 in Wheeling and November 1 in Morgantown
Today, Republican candidate Patrick Morrisey says three

Saturday morning Intelligencer front-page headline: “W.Va. Leaders Support Kavanaugh”
What would you expect from Republicans who think Tim Armstead and Evan Jenkins are qualified to be WV Supreme Court justices?
I had two reactions to Ogden political reporter Steven Allen Adams’s front page article:
Over half of the article comes from quotes from WV Republican legislative leaders Mitch Carmichael and Roger Hanshaw who both support the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. Who cares what the state’s Republican leaders think? Do they get a vote? . . .

News on West Virginia’s senatorial race
The debates: candidates Morrisey and Manchin will meet twice
You may have already seen this but the first debate is October 14 in Wheeling and the second will be November 1 in the MetroNews studios in Morgantown. It appears that Hoppy Kercheval will moderate the Morgantown debate, but I could not find a moderator listed for the . . .
Patrick Morrisey
A candidate with no ideas
Patrick Morrisey, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, apparently has nothing to say. For example, Morrisey's last eight Twitter comments are all about President Trump. Earlier today, he retweeted Trump's latest attack on the NFL:
The NFL players are at it again - taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the . . .
