The Wheeling Alternative
Have I unknowingly slipped into some kind of alternative reality?
Earlier today, John McCabe, Editorial Director for Ogden Newspapers, criticized Fox News tweeting that the news channel was “garbage and an embarrassment to the industry”
I am still stunned. Here was McCabe’s tweet:
When in the world did this level of crap — “mannequin president” — become acceptable? Like @POTUS or not, think he’s doing the job or not, he’s still the president. @FoxNews is garbage and an embarrassment to the industry I give my life to each day. pic.twitter.com/pDDbr4qwPD

How's Fox News handling the Mar-a-Lago search?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Last night, Fox created fake news by altering a photograph:
Brian Kilmeade, filling in for Tucker Carlson tonight, shared a clearly fake, photoshopped image of the judge involved in approving the Mar-a-Lago warrant pic.twitter.com/W3cxHdy6id

CRT, journalism, Obama and Morrisey
An explanation for the Republican emphasis on a theory that no one is teaching
2/2 All of the CRT panic, book banning and anti-protest laws are a direct response to this. They are trying to push white children’s exposure to - and sympathy for - racial issues back to the dark ages of Jim Crow ignorance. It is a simple as it is shocking.

The predictable answer: “let the people decide” and “it’s a vendetta”
The question: What did Senator Capito and our local Ogden newspapers say in 2016 about replacing a Supreme Court justice in a presidential election year?
Senator Capito
As Senator Shelley Moore Capito awaits her Republican talking points on voting on a new U.S. Supreme Court justice, I thought it might be informative to see what our senator said four years ago.
On March 16, 2016, President Barack Obama introduced Merrick Garland as his nominee for the Supreme Court. . . .
More hypocrisy -- Ogden Newspapers and Mike Myer on West Virginia’s drug crisis
They had no problem blaming Obama when he was president; today’s column doesn’t even mention Trump
A 2015 Wheeling News-Register editorial
It was the fall of 2015 and then President Obama was set to visit West Virginia, one of the states that was being overwhelmed by the opioid epidemic. On the Sunday before his visit, the Wheeling News-Register editorialized:
It may be that some of the drug addicts President Barack . . .
It's distraction time
Reading the morning editorial
Former President Obama conducted a "vendetta" against the fossil fuel industry and West Virginians during his time in office. At least that is what a number of editorials in Ogden "newspapers" told us during his presidency. The reason for this "vendetta" was never explained. Was it because he was not from West . . .

Blame Obama and provide no evidence
The News-Register returns to its old editorial ways
Like West Virginia's Republican legislative delegation, our local "newspapers" are better off out of power where they can criticize and criticize knowing that they don't have to be responsible. Now that Republicans are in the majority on both the state and national level, they're expected to govern. That's . . .
