Breaking news: WV Senate reaches 21st century
Passes state's first solar bill
From the Associated Press:
The West Virginia Senate on Friday passed a bill encouraging power companies to use solar energy in a bid to lure businesses to the state. But they’re making it clear that they don’t want the coal industry to feel left out.
The proposal, which would create a regulatory program for utilities to use . . .

Senator Capito joins the “he’ll learn from this” cult
She then rationalizes and enables Trump's behavior: “he is who he is"
Yesterday, West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito was quoted in an article by Business Insider on whether President Trump has learned any lessons from his impeachment. Capito’s response was like those of a number of Republican senators:
"I think he's learned that he has to be maybe a little more judicious and . . .

Not so in Wheeling -- we learned about the Democratic Party’s radicalism
National papers
This morning, the front-page headlines at major American newspaper featured at Kiosko.net covered the concerns over President Trump’s actions in the Roger Stone case and his continuing abuse of power. For example:

It’s a good thing that the extraction industries no longer control West Virginia politics!
Riley Moore, the grandson of Arch Moore and nephew of Shelley Moore Capito will hold a fundraiser this week in Charleston and guess who's invited
From Phil Kabler’s “Statehouse Beat” in Sunday's Charleston Gazette-Mail:
State treasurer candidate Riley Moore is having a fundraiser in Charleston Feb. 13, with an interesting lineup of special guests, event chairs and committee members.
Most eye-catching is that Murray Energy PAC, the political arm of the bankrupt . . .

Trump simply cannot move on
He just escalated his fight with WV's Joe Manchin -- one of few Democrats that have supported him
According to FiveThirtyEight, West Virginia's Joe Manchin leads all active Democrat senators in voting President Trump's way. Despite this, Trump criticized Manchin yesterday morning (see my last post). Not willing (or, more likely, unable) to stop, Trump continued his attack on Manchin last night:
...But, just like the people of . . .
