Republican Deathmatch 7
Down the stretch they come and Blankenship is gaining on the leaders
It's appears to be getting very close
Politico reported on Saturday night that recent Republican internal polls suggested that Don Blankenship had made significant gains on his two rivals. A few minutes ago, the conservative Weekly Standard claimed to have the specifics:
The results of an internal campaign poll . . .

Our Republican senatorial candidates are running against someone who doesn’t even hold office
Hey, fellas, even the Wheeling Intelligencer has cut back on its anti-Hillary attacks
From Raw Story earlier today:
West Virginia Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Patrick Morrisey on Wednesday told Fox News that he was the best choice because he held the right positions “on all the issues that matter” like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Huh? Hillary is an issue that matters? He elaborated:
. . .Republican Deathmatch 6 (with debate update)
More debates and a new game!
From Fox News
For those of you who can’t get enough “Trump loves me best” from WV’s senatorial candidates, Fox News will host a nationally televised debate at 6:30 PM tonight in Morgantown. From MetroNews:
Three of West Virginia’s six Republican U.S. Senate candidates will be on a national stage on Tuesday night, one . . .
(Updated with results) Here's something to keep you interested if you're watching the Republican debate tonight

WV’s senatorial candidates have it all wrong – we don’t need another “outsider” who will shake-up (or blow-up in Morissey’s case) Washington
What West Virginia needs is another “insider” like Robert C. Byrd
This post was prompted by an excellent essay in the Washington Post:

"Donald Trump likes me best"
Republican Deathmatch 6
Can these guys get any closer to Trump?
(source: Associated Press)
Apparently not. As the Washington Post wrote today:
Among his qualifications for the U.S. Senate, Rep. Evan Jenkins wants West Virginia voters to know that he once attended a Christmas party with Donald Trump, flew with him on Air Force One . . .
New Patrick Morrisey ad “blows up” Washington
An instant classic!
I'm running for U.S. Senate not to just change Washington, but to blow it up and reinvent it.

Washington is fundamentally broken. We can fix that with a West Virginia conservative fighter! #wvsen pic.twitter.com/hogbOoYnms
As Splinter describes it:
Then it gets really . . .
