What’s happening with the WV Trump Party?
Is it time to stick a fork in Alex Mooney?
Okay, Donald Trump still faces additional indictments, but that doesn’t appear to matter in West Virginia; for the most part, the WV Trump Party still hangs on his every word. And while the former president has not yet endorsed anyone in the WV Republican senatorial primary, rumors appear to suggest that he won’t:
Despite their enthusiastic past MAGA support, Donald Trump plans to stay out of the US Senate primaries in MT & WV; will not endorse US Reps Matt Rosendale (R-MT) or Alex Mooney (R-WV)... https://t.co/0OELzk3e4J

As it currently stands, Mooney has no chance without a Trump endorsement. And where does he go if this is true? Liberal blogger Howie Klein speculates:
Trump surrenders to McConnell! Won't endorse his extremist allies running for Senate, like Alex Mooney (WV) & Matt Rosendale (MT). Rosendale is unlikely to run now & it wouldn't surprise me if Mooney decides to jump out of the race & stay in the House.

Interesting. Alex Mooney vs. Riley Moore? Who would I root for?
How about additional important legislation from the congressman? On Go Victory TV (whatever that is), no less:
I joined @GoVictoryTV to discuss my Fidelity Month bill. It directs POTUS to designate one month each year as Fidelity Month for the purpose of rededicating our Nation to the values of faith, family, and patriotism. This legislation was inspired by @McCormickProf. pic.twitter.com/kF7XvXYk0u

First the gold standard, then maps, and now “faith, family, and patriotism” – yes, this is what Mooney thinks is important legislation for West Virginians.
Senator Capito
Here's Senator Shelley not sounding much like a Trump supporter:
“I don’t even know who he’s getting indicted by,” added Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., who told The Messenger as she headed to the Senate floor that she had “just read” about the likely indictment. “It’s a never-ending story.”
What? No Trump sympathies, Senator? It looks like Capito will not be running for re-election in 2026.
