In his endorsement, Manchin tells us that "Alex Mooney is all about Alex Mooney." The Encyclopedia Britannica tells us that projection is “the mental process by which people attribute to others what is in their own minds.” I think that explains Manchin's point very well.

They are the Democratic candidates for WV’s 2nd congressional district. What have you said about either of these two candidates, sir? I have searched and have found nothing. Why are you endorsing a Republican candidate? Do you have any loyalty to the Democratic Party? (I know the answer, but I thought I would ask anyway.)
