Guess which one is a puppet, and which one is a great person
(Hint -- the puppet is not the one that votes 96% of the time with the President.)
From President Trump's Twitter* account:
I was very surprised & disappointed that Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted against me on the Democrat’s totally partisan Impeachment Hoax. No President has done more for the great people of West Virginia than me (Pensions), and that will always continue. Every Republican Senator except Romney, many highly religious people, all very smart, voted against the Impeachment Hoax. @SenCapito was all in (a great person). I was told by many that Manchin was just a puppet for Schumer & Pelosi. That’s all he is!
Senator Joe does his best Susan Collins impression
From the Washington Examiner:
Manchin, who represents West Virginia, appeared Friday on Fox News to discuss his vote to convict Trump on both impeachment charges. Host Bill Hemmer also questioned Manchin on a claim the House Judiciary Committee made that investigators would continue looking into Trump’s conduct.
"They’re crazy if [investigations into Trump over Ukraine] come back," Manchin said. "Well, I’m hoping the president has learned. Mr. President, we are equal powers."
Yes, Senator, Trump’s contriteness was on full display yesterday.
Note -- NBC News is just out with an opinion piece by Robert Schlesinger that deals with his "learning" from impeachment:
Trump's purging everyone he thinks is disloyal. He was never going to learn from impeachment.
