Ignoring her previous promises to her constituents, Capito votes for "skinny repeal" of Obamacare
Legislation is rejected, however
Early this morning, the United States Senate rejected an attempt by Republicans to repeal major portions of Obamacare. The vote was 51-49 with Republicans McCain, Murkowski and Collins joining all Democrats to defeat the bill.
West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito voted in favor of the bill despite her previous statements to the contrary. WV Metro News reports the following statement from Capito:
“The failure to pass legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare does not change the need to fix our broken health care system,” she said in a press release. “As we go forward, I stand ready to work with my colleagues on bipartisan solutions that result in affordable coverage and expanded options for West Virginians.”
Sorry, Shelley, that doesn't explain why you voted for this version of Trumpcare.
