Shelley Moore Capito earlier today: Trump’s call to the Georgia Secretary of State was “inappropriate”
Once again, strong words from West Virginia’s Republican senator!
Earlier today, Senator Shelley Moore Capito was on Hoppy Kercheval’s talk show on WV Metro News. Capito was first asked if she agreed with the efforts by some Republicans to overturn the results of the presidential election. Capito did not agree with the efforts but she did think that there was reason to investigate the election. Capito then noted that the courts had determined that some of the claims were baseless. Some? Weren't they all baseless? Which ones weren’t, Senator? (Kercheval, as he usually does with Capito, did little in the way of follow-up.)
When asked about the President’s call to Georgia’s Secretary of State, Capito first responded that overall, Trump has been “very unfairly treated.” (Again with no follow-up from Kercheval as to “how?”) She then labeled the president’s call as “inappropriate.” I’m sorry but “inappropriate” would be belching during a moment of silence or making fart sounds during a church service. How about something a bit stronger like criminal, coercive, unethical, disgusting, or impeachable? Again, there was no response from Kercheval. (When it comes to WV media’s dealings with Capito, there never is.)

Greenbriar follow-up
Kerchival also briefly interviewed our local state senator, William Ihlenfeld, to discuss the New Year’s Eve party at Governor Jim Justice’s Greenbriar Resort (see two posts down):
