News from WV’s “profile in courage”
Senator Capito on Trump and WV’s handling of the coronavirus
Fearless Senator Capito
From this morning’s “State of the Union” on CNN:
“You called President Trump’s actions during the January 6th insurrection disgraceful. And you said history will judge him harshly. Would you support the former president if he ran again in 2024?”

Capito tells us that West Virginia is “outstanding” in coronavirus distribution
Currently pinned to the top of her Twitter feed:
West Virginia has been outstanding in distributing the COVID-19 vaccine!

I encourage everyone to get the vaccine in the coming weeks and months.
It’s safe, effective, available, and ultimately saves lives. 💉💪

Yes, at one time, WV was “outstanding.” However, this morning's Becker’s Hospital Review tells us that West Virginia is currently ranked 42nd with 32% of its population vaccinated with at least one dose. (Compare that with #1 New Hampshire at 59% and note that we’re only 5% ahead of last-placed Mississippi.) The senator would be the last to admit it, but my hunch is that those Trump supporters that Capito was so afraid of offending on CNN is why the state has gone from #1 to #42.
