More hypocrisy from Senator Capito
Is she giving her “undivided attention” and listening “acutely” during the impeachment trial? You be the judge
From Senator Shelley Moore Capito’s op-ed in this morning’s Bluefield Daily Telegraph:
Impeachment is a serious issue that deserves the Senate’s undivided attention, and my colleagues and I intend to treat this process as such and perform our constitutional duty.
But here is Michael McAuliff, political reporter for the New York Daily News, tweeting at 3:20 PM on Wednesday:
Just counted 21 empty seats on the GOP side of the Senate, 2 on the Dem side, a couple hours into Schiff's presentation. Some are just stretching their legs, but most are not in the chamber. Some of them have been out of there for a while.

Note that the impeachment rules state:
No use of phones or electronic devices will be allowed in the Chamber.
So, here is Capito at 3:33 PM on Wednesday obviously outside the Senate chamber tweeting about something very important to her – her reelection:
Taking a quick break during the impeachment trial. Wish I could be there in person for the groundbreaking of the new Herbert Hoover High School today! pic.twitter.com/vNYw8AasgU

“Undivided attention”? Yeah, right. Add to that, listening “acutely”? Here’s her conclusion in today’s Daily Telegraph piece:
I’ll continue to listen acutely during the impeachment trial and do my duty as an juror, but I’m looking forward to getting back to work for the American people and delivering real and meaningful solutions.
What hypocritical crap, Senator. The only “duty” you’re doing is to your reelection campaign.
