Keeping up with West Virginia’s politicians
Justice, Manchin, Morrisey and Capito
Governor Justice was on MSNBC earlier today
It did not go well:
.@SRuhle asks WV Gov. Justice about signing a bill restricting transgender athletes.
— MSNBC (@MSNBC) April 30, 2021
Ruhle: "Can you give me one example of a transgender child trying to get an unfair advantage? Just one in your state, you signed a bill about it."
Justice: "No, I can't really tell you one." pic.twitter.com/RmOyWBUuZY
“The Odd Couple” praises Senator Manchin
UMW and Sierra Club praise Manchin bills aiming to clean up, revitalize #coal communities https://t.co/oPoHih7bhY

Manchin just needs to talk to all those Republicans willing to compromise.
I wonder if Attorney General Patrick Morrisey knows about this?
Bankrupt Purdue Pharma is spending thousands to keep court records sealed in a West Virginia case filed more than 20 years ago. The story from @mtnstspotlight: https://t.co/N14BhlUJzC pic.twitter.com/MwcuQWNXv3

Now what would Purdue have to hide?
“It’s Shameful.” (Words that could easily apply to Senator Capito’s hypocrisy)
Shameful.

Last night, @SenatorTimScott was smeared for sharing his perspective and upbringing with the American people.
If you know Senator Scott, you know he’s a wonderful man and a great public servant with a positive, smart vision for our country. pic.twitter.com/PDDZ2dTj3y
I agree, Senator, the attack was uncalled for and Twitter should not have publicized it -- something they eventually corrected. But that's what you get on social media.
Here is another attack on members of Congress from two years ago. President Trump tweeted this about four Democratic congresswomen on July 14, 2019:
So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly. . . .
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019
And:
. . . . and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how. . . .
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019
And:
. . . . it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019
Within three days of Trump’s postings, according to Axios, 24 prominent Republicans had criticized the president for his tweets. Shelley Moore Capito was not one of them; I looked around but I could not find any response from WV’s junior senator. Nice. On Wednesday, Capito was offended by comments on Twitter by whomever but when then-President Trump said much worse, the senator was silent. (I’m sure her upcoming election had nothing to do with her silence.) Of course, Capito also knew that Fox News would not ask her about what she didn’t say about Trump’s tweets.
You didn't ask, Senator, but I'd say your actions are "shamefully hypocritical."
