House on summer recess until September 5
Here is the town hall meeting map for West Virginia's congressmen
With the House of Representatives in recess for over a month,I went to Town Hall Project to see when and where my local congressman (David McKinley) would be holding his next town hall meeting with his constituents. I typed in my zip code (26003) and here is the screen shot of what came up:
The site found a town hall meeting just 57 miles away. Yes, apparently Keith Rothfus will be holding a town hall on August 8 in Frazer Township, Pennsylvania for his constituents. Unfortunately, Rothfus represents Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district instead of West Virgina's 1st. If you examine the map you will find that there are no scheduled town halls for West Virginia. What is their excuse? "Republicans don't do town halls?" Hardly, Rothfus is a Republican.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to ask our congressman some questions. In the meantime, I'll try to keep you informed as to what Representative McKinley is doing on his summer vacation.
