Alex Mooney's bad day
The West Virginia’s delegation and Jim Jordan
Like yesterday, both WV representatives, Alex Mooney and Carol Miller, supported Jim Jordan:

Note -- there has been no reluctance on Mooney’s part to support Jordan:
Proud to support my friend @Jim_Jordan for Speaker!https://t.co/6SuoVyZot4

Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House?! A look at his effectiveness
How does Jordan do on bipartisanship and effectiveness? From the Washington Post:
-Last Congress, only 4 lawmakers ranked lower than Jim Jordan on legislative effectiveness
— John Wagner (@WPJohnWagner) October 17, 2023
-He has ranked in bottom 5 House Republicans last 4 Congresses
-He also rates near bottom in rankings of lawmaker bipartisanship

From that same study of the 117th Congress, note that both Mooney and WV's downstate representative, Carol Miller, were not that much ahead of Jordan in effectiveness:
(I didn’t often agree with David McKinley's politics, but at least he worked at being an effective congressional representative.)
More bad news for Mooney
Donald Trump had previously said, much to Mooney’s chagrin, that he would not endorse anyone in the West Virginia Republican primary. So much for Trump’s word:
In a boon for the NRSC, former President Donald Trump is backing Jim Justice in WV Senate primary.

Justice is up against Rep. Alex Mooney, who is backed by the Club for Growth, which has drawn the ire of Trump.

It's hard to feel sorry for Alex Mooney.
