Yes, Donald Trump, come to West Virginia and we’ll look the other way as you exploit our laws, resources, and people
Patrick Morrisey inadvertently explains why the citizens of one of richest natural resource states in the nation are among the country's poorest
Here is WV Attorney General and candidate for governor, Patrick Morrisey, yesterday:
The Trump Family, and any business looking for predictability and certainty, would be warmly welcomed in West Virginia. That ruling is out of control! https://t.co/SX4ygXPOvg

Let’s see. So far, Trump has been found guilty of sexual assault and massive fraud. He is accused of illegally mishandling classified documents, election interference and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, falsifying business records after paying hush money, and violating Georgia’s anti-racketeering laws. So how does West Virginia’s top legal official, Patrick Morrisey, react? That’s easy: he invites Trump, his family, and their business to West Virginia. As Attorney General Morrisey has demonstrated time and time again, he has no respect for the rule of law.
More importantly, as a native New Jerseyite, Patrick Morrisey is either not familiar with or, more likely, it is something he chooses to ignore: West Virginia’s long history of the exploitation of its people and natural resources by capitalists like Donald Trump who rape and plunder the state and then conveniently depart. Yes, Trump would be “warmly welcomed” here because his racist, sexist, xenophobic messaging provides many West Virginians with convenient scapegoats for their now-angry existence. (An existence worsened by politicians who served Trump’s "business friendly" predecessors.) Morrisey, however, cares about West Virginians about as much as he does the rule of law which is to say “zero.”
Morrisey is pathetic.
