West Virginia’s Trump Party responds to the Colorado court decision
From the current state attorney general who is running for governor, Patrick Morrisey
We must not allow these radical plaintiffs to disqualify President Trump from the ballot. I will continue to stand strong for President Trump. Listen to my statement below. pic.twitter.com/rUed4D4fyB

And from those running to replace Morrisey
JB McCuskey
Very proud to be working with the ACLJ, and Patrick Morrisey to ensure that this unprecedented overreach does not happen in WV, and our citizens have access to a ballot with President trump on it!https://t.co/kSIuM9JnU5
— JB McCuskey (@mccuskeyforwv) December 20, 2023
(I don’t understand how you can stop this "overreach", JB. You are the current WV state auditor, and your job duties have nothing to do with whether Trump is allowed to run in Colorado or West Virginia.)
Mike Stuart
The decision of the CO Supreme Court is damaging for America. The court’s decision not only disenfranchises CO voters but WV voters too, putting the Presidency in the discretion of judges, not people. As AG, I would fight the CO decision in defense of WV. @WVGOP @realDonaldTrump
— Mike Stuart (@MikeStuartWV) December 20, 2023
How does it disenfranchise WV voters, Mike?
To Patrick, JB, and Mike: you constantly go out of your way to defend a man with 92 felony count indictments against him. Yeah, I know -- he's innocent until proven guilty but c'mon, can't you (as current or future AG) at least pretend that you care about the rule of law by showing some restraint?
The Republican senate candidates
Alex Mooney
It is dangerous precedent for our nation for blue states to eliminate Republican candidates from the ballot.

Absent any conviction, these liberal Justices are the ones who are a threat to our democracy. https://t.co/pdAaMTxcYq
Governor Jim Justice
The decision by the Colorado Supreme Court is the most recent and dangerous example of a weaponized judiciary and must not stand. Democrats continue their attacks on our republic using unconstitutional lawfare because they know they cannot beat President Trump at the ballot box.…
— Jim Justice (@JimJusticeWV) December 20, 2023
And of course, there is our predictable state treasurer, Riley Moore, who is running for Congress
The Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Trump from their 2024 ballot is one of the most egregious attacks on election integrity in our nation’s history.
— Riley Moore (@RileyMooreWV) December 20, 2023
The US Supreme Court must step in to expeditiously overturn this injustice.
They’re trying to steal the election!
Remembering the 14th Amendment
I realize that it’s not the 2nd Amendment but still, couldn’t one of these West Virginia Trumpites acknowledge the existence of the 14th Amendment. Here is an explanation of that amendment from Robert Reich, who was Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration. (Reich has an obvious bias, but he does a good job of covering the basics):
BIG NEWS! Colorado's Supreme Court has banned Trump from the state's primary ballot because the 14th Amendment bars insurrectionists from running for office. This will surely be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Here's what you need to know about the underlying argument. pic.twitter.com/bQGxVFnh23

And as I was about to publish, I found this:
Breaking: Then-President Donald Trump personally pressured two Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers not to sign the certification of the 2020 presidential election, according to recordings reviewed by The Detroit News and revealed publicly for the first…

I'm sure it won't make any difference for the above Trumpites -- they live in the state of denial (AKA West Virginia).
