West Virginia and CPAC odds and ends
Masks, mistakes, Republicans and Trump
Our Republican governor and legislators
Hey, remember 6 years ago when WV Republicans promised all that job growth once they passed right-to-work and got rid of the prevailing wage? How well did that work?
Governor Justice said yesterday that doing away with prevailing wages and passing so called "right to work" have not helped West Virginia. He is right. Since the Republicans took over in 2015, West Virginia has hemorrhaged citizens to other states.#wvlegis #wvpol #wvgov pic.twitter.com/VVkTDhZYFy

(Okay, that's a biased source but WV Metro News also reported the governor saying the same thing.) Hey, but don’t worry, Republicans tell us that eliminating the state income tax will bring millions of new residents to the state.
On the coronavirus front, a number of Republicans consider science to be fake news and it would seem that some of them are WV legislators. Somehow, the state’s coronavirus numbers have gone down in spite of this:

Masks, Trump and CPAC
The annual meeting of the conservative Republican PAC has begun. Apparently (as in WV), not wearing a mask proves you’re a true Republican. (I can also think of some other things it proves.)
It's now the Trump Party:CPAC organizers were booed after urging attendees to adhere to the venue's COVID guidelines and wear face masks.

Hey--remember when Hillary Clinton won the 2016 popular vote by 3M, but everyone told her to get off the stage and go knit?

Donald Trump lost the election by 7M, but the GOP has built the entire #CPAC2021 conference around him.
That's not an exaggeration:
An outrageously golden statue of former President Donald Trump wearing shorts and flip-flops is on display at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Trump will speak at CPAC on Sunday in his first public appearance since leaving office. https://t.co/eQ42N08mu9
