They're out to get us, but "we let them get away with it"-- Myer mails in another column
Saturday's Michael Myer column, "We Let Them Get Away With It," is ostensibly about Senator Capito's bill to limit the EPA actions on coal but it's just another predictable attack on liberals with the usual suspects and the same lack of developed arguments.
The column's targets include the president and Hillary Clinton along with Barbara Boxer, who substitutes for Harry Reid now that he is no longer the senate majority leader, and of course, liberals.
Once you substitute Boxer for Reid, you've read his points before: they call us (West Virginians) "lazy" and we're a bunch of "hicks" and it includes the obligatory 2008 quote from Obama that West Virginians cling to their guns or religion as well as the Jonathan Gruber quote about how Obama depended on the stupidity of the American voter.
There is no mention in the column of climate change or cheaper alternatives like natural gas and it makes no point beyond "Obama and the liberals are out to get us." (Along the same lines, the paper's "it's an Obama vendetta" editorials are just another variation of this same point.) It seems to me that this "rally around the ( West Virginia) flag" is increasingly becoming Myer's favorite defense of coal.
