WV2 Congressman Riley Moore earlier today on the Trump sentencing:
Trump gets "Unconditional Discharge."

TRANSLATION: Democrats in DC and NY colluded to:
❌Harass the leading Republican candidate for President
❌Brand him a convicted felon
❌Give him no punishment for his "crimes"
This was pure election interference, and we must hold those… pic.twitter.com/apnunCPyFj
I think we need to examine Moore’s points a bit more closely:
Harass the leading Republican candidate for President. The prosecuting attorney first had to convince a grand jury that there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial. He then had to convince a jury that Trump was guilty. That's not harassment, it's a prosecutor doing his job. And it wasn't that Trump didn't have adequate representation.
Brand him a convicted felon. Trump was not “branded” by Democrats – a jury of his peers found him guilty on all 34 felony counts. Clearly, Trump’s own actions made him a convicted felon.
Give him no punishment for his "crimes." As PBS explained the judge’s decision:
The judge had indicated that he planned the unconditional discharge — a rarity in felony convictions — partly to avoid complicated constitutional issues that would have arisen if he imposed a penalty that overlapped with Trump’s presidency.
I’m not sure what Riley’s point is here beyond sucking up to Trump and his supporters. Perhaps, it’s tied to Trump’s personal threat of “accountability” for those responsible. For doing their job, Riley?
Greenland!
Additionally, our new congressman appears to have a thing for Greenland. (That, or more likely, he’s trying to score points with Trump.) In the past three days, Moore has made five specific posts about Greenland, the country that our incoming president wants to buy. Most of these posts feature Donald Trump Jr. who recently visited the nation and bragged about his reception which included the promise that the incoming President would “MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN.”
*As I posted in early May, a cryptocurrency lobbying group, Defend American Jobs, gave $726,377 to Riley Moore’s campaign a week before the primary election. At that point, Moore was the certain winner – obviously, the money was not about ensuring that Moore would win. Earlier last year, that same group also gave Jim Justice over $3 million dollars for his senate campaign. While $3,000,000 is a significant amount and placed him second on Defend America's receiver list, Justice’s amount was peanuts compared to Ohio’s Bernie Moreno, the Republican senatorial candidate who defeated incumbent Sherrod Brown. Moreno’s campaign received $40 million from the group. (Yes, $40 million from just one cryptocurrency group.) What does crypto have to do with West Virginia or Ohio? Absolutely nothing; this was about purchasing bought-and-paid-for (i.e. "friendly") legislators. In the future, I’m going to try to follow these three on this issue.
