Quiz time for readers of Wheeling’s morning “newspaper”
Of the following national news stories, which has received the most coverage so far this week (Monday through Wednesday) in the Wheeling Intelligencer?
- a. Coverage of Republican congressional opposition (Jeff Flake and Bob Corker) to Donald Trump
- b. David Letterman honored with Mark Twain Prize
- c. The status of relief efforts in Puerto Rico
- d. The Government Accountability Office saying that climate change has already cost the United States billions
_____
Answer: Despite extensive national media coverage, the statements and actions of Republicans Jeff Flake and Bob Corker have received no attention in the Intelligencer. Nor has there been any mention of Puerto Rico so far this week -- hey, Trump gave himself a 10 out 10 for the job he's done there. (I'll let readers draw their own conclusions.) Surprisingly, a climate change story actually made it to page 2 of yesterday's paper. But that one article has been dwarfed by "David Letterman honored with the Mark Twain Prize" which has been covered every day this week. (The Intelligencer liked yesterday's story so much they printed the same story again today!)
What can I say -- they're keeping us informed!
