President Trump yesterday: wind turbine noise causes cancer
(Filed under “Trump stuff you can’t make up”)
From Jonathan Chait at New York Magazine:
In a speech tonight to House Republicans, Trump claimed that wind turbines cause cancer.
“They say the noise causes cancer,” the president of the United States asserted.
Additionally:
“Someone’s gonna leak this whole damn speech to the media,” Trump worried aloud. It was a valid fear, given that reporters were in the room and C-SPAN cameras were covering the speech live.
In other Trump matters, the monthly Morning Consult state-by-state net approval rating now places West Virginia third behind Wyoming and Alabama in support for the president. (West Virginia has frequently finished first in the poll.) The poll subtracts the disapproval rate from the approval rate to get the net approval rating. The most recent poll for WV has a 59% approval and 37% disapproval for a +22 ratings. This looks to be good news for Trump, but the poll does note:
Since Trump took office, his net approval in West Virginia has decreased by 15 percentage points.
A closer look at those numbers reveals that Trump’s West Virginia approval rating has remained stable throughout his presidency – it’s the increase in the disapproval rating that has caused most of the drop in his state numbers.
