Patrick Morrisey stuff
Is Nexstar supporting Republican Patrick Morrisey’s run for governor? It sure looks like it
Nexstar owns four television outlets in West Virginia. (Local WTRF is one of them.) A segment from last weeks’ political interview show, “Inside WV Politics,” should make viewers wonder if it isn’t already supporting Morrisey’s run for governor. Watch as Nexstar political reporter Mark Curtis asks Morrisey a softball question while viewers get to watch video clips that supplement what Morrisey is saying:
“People are struggling & inflation has ravaged our state.

“We need to make sure hard working people get more take home pay. That could be additional tax cuts, new job starts and economic opportunities.”

(I checked: this and the video used in additional Morrisey tweets are in the actual program.) Where did these clips come from? Did Morrisey bring the clips or did WOWK insert them to visually supplement Morrisey’s points? This news segment clearly looks like a campaign ad – it is no wonder that Morrisey is highlighting this interview in his twitter feed.
Not surprising, there are no difficult questions for Morrisey from Mark Curtis in the five minute “news” segment. I realize that Nexstar is a conservative company but why are they interviewing Morrisey with pre-packaged material ready for Twitter feeds and campaign commercials?
Morrisey and Trump
More of the same from the Attorney General:
Thank you President Trump! #Trump2024 pic.twitter.com/siDghHJhgE

That’s because Morrisey is still a toady:
West Virginia misses President Trump. I’m proud to be the first and only candidate for Governor to officially endorse President Donald J. Trump for President today. #Trump2024 pic.twitter.com/GLLABNLcAm

And here is what Trump has been saying lately:
Mandatory stop-and-frisk. Deploying the military to fight street crime, break up gangs & deport immigrants. Purging the federal workforce & charging leakers.

Trump is rolling out his proposed second-term agenda. “We need to take it very seriously.”https://t.co/TrJlT8GviG
Yes, WV’s top legal officer has no problem with Trump's authoritarianism. Morrisey is pathetic.
