Hey, Alex, it’s January 4th and the Republicans still haven’t taken control
Congressman: I did tune in but nothing happened:
A quick recap of my week in Washington.

I voted NO on the $1.7 trillion omnibus that included wasteful spending and failed to secure our border.

By the way, Mooney told Metro News earlier today: “I’d like to vote for Jim [Jordan], but Jim’s supporting Kevin.”
Republicans did prioritize what needed to be done, however
Important things first:
Of course, some Republicans never followed the rules anyway (from 2021):“First sign of new GOP majority”: Metal detectors installed after Jan. 6 removed after MAGA gripes https://t.co/ktfQvkOQ6k

Rep. Alex Mooney walks through the metal detectors while talking on the phone.

He extends his hand as if to say, ‘I’m on the phone,’ and just walks onto the floor.
And who said, “Republicans don’t care about ethics”?
I did. Doing away with the Office of Congressional Ethics is another Republican priority:
In the last Congress, notable subjects of the Office of Congressional Ethics’ inquiries included Reps. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.), Alex Mooney (R-W.V.) and Marie Newman (D-Ill.). This session was shaping up to be a busy one for the office. https://t.co/ojTWUIsmrh

And what does our new congressman see as his top priority?
Judging by what Mooney has pinned to the top of his Twitter page for the last month, it’s returning the United States to the gold standard, of course:
Today, I addressed the House on the Gold Standard Restoration Act. My bill would return the U.S. to the gold standard, protect against Washington’s irresponsible spending habits and the creation of money out of thin air. pic.twitter.com/g1iP7RTQdJ
