In the previous post I wrote about the coverage afforded Attorney General Patrick Morrisey for simply choosing not to run for governor next year. Yesterday the Intelligencer continued their publicity campaign for this non-candidate by giving him additional coverage (picture included) for touring a local business and then taking part in a Chamber of Commerce roundtable. Front-page news, too! If you then turned to the editorial page, the Intelligencer's lead editorial tells us "Morrisey Makes Right Decision":
Morrisey is to be commended for putting personal ambitions aside to serve our state. Should he choose to run for higher office at some time in the future, voters will remember with gratitude what he did this year.
Today we learn that he hosted a roundtable discussion yesterday about drug abuse. The front-page article is mostly about what the discussion participants said yet Morrisey once again got the headline along with still another picture. Like a baseball player needing a triple to hit for the cycle, Morissey needs only to pen a guest column this weekend to achieve a "full McKinley"!
