As a follow-up to last week’s post on Sinclair Broadcasting’s anti-Biden propaganda (see previous post), Judd Legum is out with another Sinclair article which examines the source (the Republican National Committee) for Sinclair's anti-Biden articles and coverage and the extent to which that source distorts news reports. As Legum notes:

This month, Sinclair Broadcast Group has flooded a vast network of local news websites with misleading articles suggesting that President Biden is mentally unfit for office. The articles are based on specious social media posts by the Republican National Committee (RNC), which are then repackaged to resemble news reports. The thinly disguised political attacks are then syndicated to dozens of local news websites owned by Sinclair, where they are given the imprimatur of mainstream media brands, including NBC, ABC, and CBS.

In the post, Legum analyzes and refutes the four most recent Sinclair “news” articles that question Biden’s fitness for the office. All four articles also suggest, with no proof, that the president was shitting his pants. Curious, I checked WTOV’s website and, not surprisingly, here they are:

Misleading GOP videos of Biden are going viral. The fact-checks have trouble keeping up.

As these factcheckers have pointed out, this was a deliberate falsification of reality on the part of the Republican National Committee. Okay, they are unethical but at least we know their bias. On the other hand, when Sinclair repackages these videos on its local stations, it gets a pass from many viewers because the viewers have come to know and trust their local reporters. This local credibility makes it much easier to infuse their local broadcasts with Republican lies.

I think it's clear: Steubenville WTOV-9 has clearly become part of Sinclair Broadcasting’s propaganda effort to defeat Joe Biden in November.
