More on the whistleblower
Today’s Wheeling News-Register sort-of covers Trump and the whistleblower
This morning’s Wheeling New-Register carries most of an AP report on Trump’s outing of the whistleblower. Unfortunately, the last quarter of article was not included. Among that which is missing from this morning’s paper is the following:
Michael German, an FBI whistleblower who left the agency after reporting allegations of mismanagement in counterterrorism cases, said outing government whistleblowers not only puts them at personal risk but also discourages other government officials from stepping forward to expose possible wrongdoing.
German, now a fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University Law School, said the ease with which the alleged whistleblower’s identity has been spread online shows the need for greater legal protections for whistleblowers. He added that it’s “completely inappropriate for the president of the United States to be engaged in any type of behavior that could harm a whistleblower.”

Gone yesterday, back today
The AP article and today’s News-Register headline tell us:
Trump Retweets, Deletes Post Naming Alleged Whistleblower
That may have been true but, as of 11:00 this morning, Trump’s retweet of the original by “Surfermom 77” was posted in the expected chronological order on Trump’s twitter account. (The most recent AP report also confirms this.)
