No, Mike, what is “funny” and “sad” is that you fell for it
Yesterday afternoon, shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court decided the Trump/14th Amendment case, Republican candidate for WV Attorney General, Mike Stuart, posted the following:
🚨BREAKING: President Biden calls for Justice Ginsburg to retire after today's landmark 9-0 decision to keep former president Trump on state ballots. pic.twitter.com/KNSfXCTSaE

Eventually, someone pointed out to Mike that the U.S. Ministry of Truth is a satiric site, and that Ginsburg has been dead since 2020. No problem -- two hours later, he followed-up his original post with a “it could be true”:
It’s funny, sad and could be true… https://t.co/0XWLDBo8eY

Yeah, right.
Hey, what do you expect -- it’s the District of Columbia (wink, wink)
On Sunday, Mike Stuart explained why Donald Trump lost the Washington DC primary to Nikki Haley:
Nikki finally won a primary- Washington DC. That should tell you everything you need to know. 😂😂 Still full steam ahead to Make America Great Again and to https://t.co/e7xzoARz1G

“Everything we need to know” (with laughing emojis)? Really? Mike, why don’t you tell us the difference between DC and West Virginia voters? Otherwise, some of us might think that what you’re really talking about is race. (In DC, whites make up only 38% of the population. Compare that with Stuart’s West Virginia which is 93% white.) Yeah, Mike, just flash those emojis – we know what you’re really saying.
Mike Stuart takes bold stand against fraud: the Republican AG candidate tells us that there was “massive illegal spending and NO transparency” connected with the covid relief effort.
A simple question for Mike: which party was in total control of West Virginia’s government when all of this happened? Here’s Mike Stuart earlier today:
In May 2021, he said, “We must avoid the pitfall of fraud, waste and graft. We need to make sure this (Covid) money is spent efficiently and effectively, legally and transparently.”

THE RESULT? Massive illegal spending and NO transparency. @WVGOP https://t.co/nPvw5AfuxO
So the Republican relief efforts brought us "massive illegal spending and NO transparency." (Nice to see a prominent Republican admitting that.) Stuart’s link is to a 2021 Ogden article about the state’s efforts to prevent waste in the spending of federal covid money. Stuart references it because his AG opponent and the current WV auditor, JB McCuskey, is mentioned frequently in the article. Yeah, Mike, I also don’t remember any Republican complaining as Governor Justice used covid relief money to tour the state giving away expensive trucks along with building a new baseball field for Marshall University. And do you know what would go a long way toward preventing fraud? How about a government with two functioning political parties?
