Keeping up with WV’s Trump Party
Riley Moore (Congressional District 2 candidate)
Here’s Moore working as Trump’s hit man going after Trump’s perceived enemies on rightwing media:
Looking forward to joining @OANN to discuss Nikki Haley’s alarming connections to the ESG movement and BlackRock! https://t.co/A4L83JhkcO

An aside -- I sometimes judge a site by the poll questions it asks its readers believing that the attempt at engagement frequently suggests how a site views its followers. Here was OAN’s Kara McKinney’s poll question that day:
Patrick Morrisey (running for WV governor)
Pics of WV’s attorney general hanging out:
Great time last night with President Trump, Denise, Lou Holtz, and many leaders of the America First movement. Unlike my opponents, who seemingly had to take a poll to determine whether they should endorse President Trump, I endorsed Trump shortly after I announced for Governor. pic.twitter.com/WNJgpSLhJN

Mike Stuart (WV attorney general candidate)
It’s good to know that someone who might be our next attorney general has no problem putting words into a judge’s mouth:
GREAT NEWS! After a Colorado judge deemed the effort to kick Trump off ballot as “without merit,” it’s clear sailing.

President Trump defeated every ballot challenge. The right result and a great result for America. @WVGOP @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/bdQjH7jdyF
I searched but could not find the judge stating that the case was “without merit.” Here is what the AP concluded:
In her decision, Wallace said she found that Trump did in fact “engage in insurrection” on Jan. 6 and rejected his attorneys’ arguments that he was simply engaging in free speech. Normally, that would be enough to disqualify him under Section 3, but she said she couldn’t do so for a presidential candidate.
And not unlike Morrisey, Stuart surrounds himself with Trump pictures:
I have to admit… I LOVE the “haters” on my Twitter and FB accounts. They drive my traffic, strengthen the passion of my supporters, and they prove Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. That’s a win, win, win scenario! @WVGOP #wvpol pic.twitter.com/FNfWWK9O97

Mac Warner (running for governor)
Commenting on Manchin’s decision not to seek reelection:
"‘The Democrat party has been taken over by extremists‘ - Secretary Mac Warner" https://t.co/bOZnOskADA

Project much?
Ryan Weld (former attorney general candidate)
Dropping out of the attorney general race:
Throughout my campaign for Attorney General, Alex and I have loved meeting West Virginians from every corner of this state, and we wouldn’t trade one mile of our travels for anything. But when a campaign starts to make you compromise on your principles, it’s time to re-evaluate.… pic.twitter.com/oyY9tNkTzG
— Ryan Weld (@RyanWeld) November 22, 2023
Ryan, this statement would have had a lot more credibility had you told us (as a commenter asked) which of your principles were being compromised. Otherwise, the cynics among us might conclude that no one was supporting your candidacy. (Personally, I think Weld's problem was that he didn't feature enough Trump pics on his social media sites.)
