Hey, it’s Ogden favorite time
Riley Moore visits Wheeling and gets the royal (Moore) treatment (with 10/7 update)
WV Treasurer and Ogden favorite Riley Moore visits Wheeling!
It’s been a couple of months since the Wheeling Intelligencer last featured one of its favorite politicians, WV's state treasurer, Riley Moore. Not to worry, today’s paper made up for the omissions with two articles as Moore visited Wheeling yesterday. The first was a front-page article that explains Moore’s call for an end to the U.S. Department of Education. The second was a back-page story:
Tradespeople Eligible For Savings Program, Contest
This story featured a large picture of Moore watching a student welder at West Virginia Northern Community College. As required in Ogden feature articles on Riley Moore, readers were then reminded that Moore started his career as a welder:
“For myself, I was like you. I went to trade school,” Moore told the WVNCC students. “I actually became a welder after trade school. If I had continued to do that, I would certainly be making more money than I would as your state treasurer. There’s definitely good money in trades — but not as much in government, that’s not why I am doing this job.”
(Emphasis mine.) I wouldn't expect the Intelligencer to fact check but Moore is wrong. The average welder, with at least 10 years experience, makes $53,000 a year. This year, Treasurer Moore will make over twice that amount at $115,000.

He’s a liberator and a hero to all freedom-loving Americans.

Wray LIED. The FBI’s anti-Catholic memo was not the work of one rogue field office.

There is a widespread conspiracy deep within our government to paint traditional Catholics like me and my family as terrorists.

Hmmm. Isn't Joe Biden Catholic?
Quiz answer
All of the above are, like Riley Moore, running for Congress in WV's 2nd congressional district. I'm sure we'll soon be seeing feature articles on them very soon!
10/7 Update
Riley Moore was quick to comment on today's attack on Israel:
The barbaric surprise attack by Hamas this morning against the State of Israel is horrifying. My prayers are with the people of Israel. God willing there will be a swift victory for Israel and justice for the families who have lost loved ones.

It is is no coincidence that this…
Mike Pushkin, WV delegate and Democratic Chair, was quick to push back:
This unprovoked attack on civilians has nothing to do with our President and to claim anything else legitimizes terrorism. Quite frankly, most supporters of Israel don’t really want to hear from you, an insincere politician who’s been on an antisemitic podcast NINE TIMES!

Back in June, I wrote about Moore's frequent appearances on that antisemitic podcast here.
