For the most part, radio silence (with updates)
WV’s Trump Party and yesterday's indictment of Donald Trump
The Google dictionary defines “radio silence” as “absence of communication from a person or group from whom communication might have been expected.” If the quick responses by West Virginia’s Trump Party to Donald Trump’s previous indictment were a predictor, you would have thought that by now there would be numerous reactions to yesterday’s indictment of the former president. But except for Alex Mooney, who tweeted a response last night, the rest of the state’s elected Republican officials have remained silent on the former president’s indictment.
Here is Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Alex Mooney’s relatively quick response:
President Trump has faced unprecedented witch hunts from corrupt left-wing Democrats since the day he announced his presidential campaign. As the only pro-Trump conservative in the race, I stand with @realDonaldTrump against the DOJ’s disgusting abuse of power! pic.twitter.com/6QSpbSNzrz

I have looked and have not yet found any response from Jim Justice, Riley Moore, Patrick Morrisey, Carol Miller, Mac Warner, Moore Capito, or Shelley Moore Capito. Finally, here is one of January-6-convicted and WV District 1 candidate Derrick Evans' many tweets on the subject:
The deep state stole the 2020 election.

They arrested me and threw me in prison for peacefully protesting their stolen election.
They have now indicted Trump for simply saying the 2020 election was stolen.
This is an illegitimate and communist regime.
What are WV’s mainstream Republicans waiting for?
Updates on the last two posts
On the WV Trump Party and the Trump indictment: Riley Moore retweeted Kevin McCarthy attacking Hunter Biden, but like the rest of WV’s Trump Party, has not commented on Trump’s indictment. (I think they are all waiting for what the Party’s official talking points will be.)
On local TV: At 4 PM today, WTRF’s fake story about Joe Biden’s daughter was trending again on their web page.
Additionally, long-time WTOV and Sinclair Broadcasting political commentator, Boris Epshteyn, is apparently co-conspirator #6:
NEWS: An email from December 2020 from Boris Epshteyn to Rudy Giuliani matches a description in the indictment of an interaction between co-conspirator 6 and Giuliani, whose lawyer has confirmed is co-conspirator 1. w @maggieNYT @lukebroadwater https://t.co/TVIxD5AVmO

Finally, West Virginia’s love affair with Donald Trump has not been lost with his lawyers:
Trump attorney John Lauro on CBS This Morning on where he would like the trial moved. "There is certainly West Virginia which is close by."
