I saw this video from the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) meeting last night and I was glad to see it featured earlier today on CNN:
Jack Posobiec at CPAC: “Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on Jan. 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it.”

Trump’s Republican Party openly wants to end democracy. We must stop them. pic.twitter.com/UITxEth0im
Among other titles, Jack Posobiec is senior editor at the far-right Human Events and if you check out his twitter feed, you’ll find that what he said at CPAC is not that unusual. Regular readers of this blog may also recognize “Poso” or “Posobiec” from one of last Sunday’s blog posts in which I featured WV’s state treasurer and candidate for the WV2 congressional seat, Riley Moore, retweeting a Posobiec post. It was not Moore’s first time; for example, here he is inviting Posobiec to West Virginia back in 2022:
Come to West Virginia! Affordable, beautiful, safe, freedom, God fearing good people.
— Riley Moore (@RileyMooreWV) June 5, 2022
Riley Moore cozying to Posobiec doesn’t surprise me; Riley is not your everyday garden variety of Arch Moore descendant. His political views, if you go looking for them, take you into some scary parts of the far-right universe. Unfortunately for the state's citizenry, he's regularly portrayed by West Virginia’s media as a harmless bureaucrat dispensing money as he tours the state.
