Eighteen people die in gun violence; the Republican-dominated WV legislature reacts
Today’s top-of-the-front-page headline in this morning’s Charleston Gazette-Mail:
Senate advances pro-gun bills
The headline at WV Metro News:
West Virginia Senate Judiciary passes four gun measures in an hour
More specifically, from WV Metro:
The committee discussed and passed one proposed amendment to the state Constitution, one resolution urging federal officials to not infringe on the 2nd Amendment and two bills that would change West Virginia firearms laws.
According to the Gazette, neither the Boulder nor Atlanta shootings were mentioned in the committee’s discussion of the bills.
(Note – despite its front-page status elsewhere, there was nothing about these bills in this morning’s Wheeling Intelligencer.)
Next up from what I read: voter suppression bills.
