Documenting the locals' anti-Clinton agenda 13
Page 5 of this morning's "newspaper" carried part of an AP story that examined how candidates' Clinton and Trump responded to the recent police shootings of black men. The Intelligencer headline reads:
Clinton, Trump Decry Latest Cop Shootings
Unfortunately for those interested in how both candidates reacted to the shootings, the Intelligencer dropped the last six paragraphs of the AP report which included Clinton's response. Consequently, and despite the headline, there is nothing in the Intelligencer version of the AP article which supports the headline as it applies to Clinton. For those who might be interested, here are two of the AP paragraphs not included in the morning paper's version:
Clinton notably made no direct mention of Trump in a speech in Orlando, Florida, focused on helping people with disabilities thrive in the U.S. economy. She pointed to the Oklahoma and North Carolina shootings at the start of her remarks, saying it added two more names "to a long list of African-Americans killed by police officers. It's unbearable and it needs to become intolerable."
Clinton has made curbing gun violence and police brutality a central part of her candidacy. She has campaigned alongside a group of black women called the "Mothers of the Movement," who advocated for more accountability and transparency by law enforcement. The group includes the mothers of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, black victims of high-profile killings.
Yep, more "fair and balanced" coverage from the Intelligencer.
