From today's front page: Senator Capito told an Intelligencer reporter on Tuesday that “tax reform has helped West Virginia”
How is this news? Doesn't relevance or timeliness count anymore?
Here are the first two paragraphs from a story featured on the front page of both of today’s local papers:
U.S. Sen. Shelley Capito attributes an improving West Virginia economy to Trump tax reforms passed late last year.
Capito, R-W.Va., spoke Tuesday on the effects of the tax reforms while visiting Wheeling. Earlier in the day, she had taken part in a ceremony at the new Brooke County Middle School and toured Warwood Tool.
She also discussed “opportunity zones” – something that was announced in a joint statement with Governor Justice on May 18.
A picture of Capito standing near the Intelligencer office is also included.
None of this is news but Capito, an Ogden favorite, hasn’t been on the front page for a while. (I'm surprised this non-story wasn't saved for Sunday's paper.)
