Shorter Joe Manchin: I'm the principled one, everyone else is "playing politics"
The senator apparently has no self-awareness
Senator Joe Manchin on Jeff Sessions' nomination:
. . .Sen. Joe Manchin said that his fellow Senate Democrats are "playing politics" with the confirmation of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general.
"Am I the only one voting for Jeff?" he asked in an interview with the Washington Examiner.

Dino Joe at it again
(with 1/19 update)
Voting for him isn't enough and so tomorrow he'll introduce Rick Perry
Talking Points Memo just posted that West Virginia Democratic senator Joe Manchin will introduce Trump's nominee for Energy Secretary:
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is doing everything he can not to be labeled as a liberal in his upcoming . . .

Senator Joe
Still a Democrat but looking a lot like a Republican
As the Trump administration is about to begin, West Virginia Democratic senator Joe Manchin continues to give the appearance that he's really a Republican. For example, while he has supported not eliminating Obamacare, that's because a replacement is not in place. He's also been willing to work with Republicans on that . . .

What's DINO Joe been doing?
Obamacare
While WV Democratic senator Joe Manchin last night voted with the Democrats against the adoption of the budget resolution to repeal Obamacare, he continues to look and act like a Republican. For example, Politico reported two hours ago that he wants to help the Republicans "repair" Obamacare:

Looks like Exxon won the election
Hearings will begin for Rex Tillerson to be secretary of state tomorrow and according to today's Politico, Democrats will be pushing Tillerson on climate change. Timed appropriately, the Center for American Progress (a liberal think tank) released a report today on the possible financial gains . . .
Senator Manchin wants to bring back the seventies' "war on drugs"
On Tuesday, Senator Joe Manchin discussed what to do about the nation's drug problem with CNN's Jake Tapper:
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin called for a new "war on drugs" Tuesday to combat the opioid crisis striking his state of West Virginia, eagerly adopting the language of the now much-criticized . . .

Morrisey and Manchin
Joe keeps sounding more and more like a Republican
I wrote in the previous post that the Washington Post was listing WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey as a potential challenger for Senator Joe Manchin in 2018. Today's Politico Energy Report suggests the race is already on:
In what could be a preview of a 2018 Senate contest, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey . . .
